Hilary Bucher, Medical Aesthetician

From the time Hilary Bucher was a little girl, you could always find a makeup brush in hand to adorn the faces in front of her. Much of her youth was spent playing “dress up”. Putting on her own plays and shows at home, and applying makeup to her friends and family. These would be the experiences and building blocks upon which her dreams were made. Since then, Hilary has spent her life honing her innate artistic sense and ability to create a long standing career in the Beauty Industry.

In her 20’s she spent roughly ten years doing makeup and auditioning, while pursuing full time work as an actor. She was fortunate to train under some of the top acting teachers in LA including Jeff Goldblum of Playhouse West. With the lifestyle and pace of a hard working artist weighing heavy, she opted for a change of pace and re-located to the Bay Area. She began working with Bare Escentuals and spent 5 years with the company working in Management. During this time she was able to refine her makeup skills, as well as become a Lead Trainer for a large number of the BE staff in Marin and Sonoma County. Hilary also made time to acquire her Esthetics License and work as a free-lance makeup artist for local weddings and local industry photographers.

While makeup was Hilary’s first passion, she also loved the Esthetic world. She instantly found she had a gift to better a person’s skin, as well as nurturing and healing them with her caring touch. Hilary moved from BE into working as an Assistant Spa Manager. As she worked as a manager, she practiced her facial treatments and built up her own loyal clientele. Eventually, she decided to open her own skin care studio and continue her work as a local makeup artist for weddings and established local photographers. Even though Hilary loved running her own business, she decided it was time to start a family. After becoming a mom and enjoying the blessings of motherhood, Hilary returned to the work force completing medical assisting school and working in a well known Med Spa & Surgery Center. It was here she learned about advanced facial treatments, laser treatments, injectibles, body augmentation, and top of the line skin care. Desiring to get back to working as an esthetician full time, she kept her eyes open for an opening and opportunity to return to what she truly loved. Hilary is so excited she found a new home at the Cosmetic Department of the Sebastopol Specialty Center! She is anxious to guide you and your skin with loving hands to optimal health and wellness.
